The steamer Plover, called here on Saturday morning last, en route for St. John's. The following is the list of passengers: Rev. Mr. Whittier, Mr. Gill, McCalm, Dooling, Parnel, Dr. Moody, Mrs. Benson.
Fishery
Mr. W. Rowsell & Sons of Leading Tickles, were successful in hauling 60 quintals of codfish and were expecting to make up about 200 quintals, before the "spurt" was over.
Cricket
We understand that a cricket match will be played on or about Tuesday next, on Back Harbor green, between eleven of the North side and an equal number of the South Side. We are hoping for a good game.
Small Pox The Small Pox epidemic in Harbor Grace and neighborhood is hoped to be now over. There have been no fresh cases for some time, and the quarantine has been raised on all houses in Island Cove.
Church Repairs
Of the tenders sent in for painting the interior of the roof of St. Peter's Church, that by Mr. Abraham A. Pearce, Jr., was accepted, being the lowest.
Wanted
To hire, a schooner of 30 tons or thereabout, for the season commencing 10th of May, 1892. Information given at Sun office.

Back Harbor School. Wanted immediately, a female teacher for the above school, with at least a 3rd. Grade certificate. Salary offered £30 for the first year. Apply to the Chairman of the Church of England Board, Twillingate.
